I became aware again when the sun shone brightly through the window, which was still open enough to allow a breeze to come through should it be a windy day. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the bedroom. Bastian’s side of the bed was made, as he always did. I thought it was odd that I hadn’t heard his alarm go off. Usually it would wake me up and we’d have coffee and breakfast together before he went to work. I looked over at his clock and gasped in shock at the time. It was almost noon. If I wanted to be on time to meet Bastian for lunch I had to get ready now. After a quick shower and throwing my hair up into a pony tail I rummaged through my clothes and threw on a comfortable pair of jeans and a silk blouse. Grabbing my keys out of the bowl on the dresser, my purse and slipping into a pair of high heeled sandals I was out the door and in the car.
